Universal Investment and Development Company Limited - (UIDC Limited) is a Finance Company licenced and supervised by the Central Bank of Nigeria - (CBN) The Company was first incorporated in 1971 as the Nigeria Economic Welfare Services (NEWS) Limited by the then Bendel State Government.

It was reorganised in 1987 into its present status as a Finance Company/Management Consultancy. In February 2000 the Company was ceded to Delta State Government and the company was re-organised and re-structured to meet the expectation of the new owner the Delta State Government.

The Company operates from a head office located in Effurun Delta State and five (5) other branches located in Delta State, Edo State and Rivers State.

UIDC Limited offers loan to individuals and corporate organisation ranging from consumer credit, lease loan, car loan, LPO financing to provision of financial assistance in the form of short and medium term loans for the execution of projects.

The company also offers consultancy service in the areas of project planning, financing, capital/business reconstruction, financial advisory service/management and preparation of feasibilty studies.
